Damien Tulugarjuk was selected to represent Artcirq at the Qaggiavuut Teacher Training in Iqaluit, where artists from across the territory congregated to share and improve their pedagogical practices in the arts.

A contingency of 8 Artcirq artists and 2 children made their way to Ottawa to lead workshops and perform on the festival’s main stage in collaboration with Kalabanté, which attracted an audience in the hundreds. Artcirq’s longtime collaborators Patrick Léonard and Geneviève Drolet from Les 7 Doigts de la Main joined Artcirq coordinators in leading workshops at the Black Box. A 3 day fishing trip was also organized as a means for our guest artists to better understand Inuit life.

The inspiring documentary about Artcirq and Kalabanté was screened at the Ataguttaaluk High School and New Community Hall for young and old to enjoy. The high school screening was followed by a performance which incorporated participants from Artcirq’s workshops at the Black Box.
